What is a Contact Lens Fitting?
When you visit us to be fitted with contact lenses, we will first perform a comprehensive eye exam to ensure your eyes are healthy. We’ll test your visual acuity to determine your contact lens prescription.
We’ll then perform a few tests to measure your eyes and give you the best recommendations on contact lenses that will fit you comfortably:
- A keratometer will help us determine the curvature of your eyeball, which will dictate what curve and size of lens will work best for your eyes.
- We’ll examine your eyes’ health and the quality of your tears to ensure you’re fitted with contact lenses and lens solution with a suitable composition.
- We can recommend and order you a trial pair of lenses to use for a short length of time. During this time, we’ll invite you back for a follow-up appointment to discuss your comfort level and how you felt wearing the lenses. If you like them, we’ll put in an order for whatever type of lens you’d prefer.
